Although not an easy two years and although mother was not very communicative I am sure the individual attention and cheerfulness of all those who helped her maintained the best possible quality of life.

Christmas Carols with the Brownies at Ashridge Court

Brownies sing at Ashridge Court
Residents, family and friends of Ashridge Court Care Centre, Bexhill on Sea, were delighted when a local pack of Brownies visited them this December.
The pack, from Little Common and guided by Brown Owl, Debbie Mekin, joined residents at the Barnhorn Road Care Centre, as they relaxed in the residents lounge, and serenaded them with a festive selection of carols and songs.Brownies stop for a chat with Ashridge Court residents

Liz Young, manager of Ashridge Court said, “We were thrilled to find so many of the residents at Ashridge Court used to be Brownies too when they were younger, and they very much enjoyed the music as well as chatting about all the differences between now and then.”

Brown Owl Debbie commented: "Girlguiding UK encourages all its Brownies to take a lead in the kind of activities they do, and visiting Ashridge Court to entertain the residents was something the girls of Little Common really wanted to be involved with.

Ashrige Court Care Centre, which specialises in providing quality nursing and residential care for the elderly, enjoys being an active part in the local East Sussex community, so the visit by the brownies was a great start to the Christmas festivities.
